Welcome to the University of Maine at Fort Kent!

Are you Bengal Ready?

Congratulations on your decision to be a UMFK Bengal! You made a great choice and we want to ensure your smooth transition to UMFK. Please know that during this time, your health and the health of our University of Maine at Fort Kent community is of utmost concern.

This Orientation webpage is subject to change due to COVID regulations. Please check back regularly to learn the most updated information.

Tentative Schedule

  • August 26th (9 AM Start): Move-in To Residence Halls.
    • Students who arrive with proof of vaccination or with a negative test result, will not need to quarantine.
    • Students proof of vaccination or with a negative test result, must check in prior to 1PM (in order to have test results by the next days) and are subject to quarantine until the test results are received.
    • Please check your email. Residence Life will be sending room assignments and updates in July.
  • August 27th: Orientation Day
    • 9:00 AM-9:30 AM - Check-in
    • 9:30 AM-12:00 PM - Morning Sessions
    • 12:00 PM-1:30 PM - BBQ Lunch
    • 1:30 PM-5:00 PM - Afternoon Sessions
    • 6:00 PM-7:30 PM - Mandatory International Student Sessions (See Below For More Information)
    • 8:00 PM-11:00 PM - Movie On The Quad
  • August 28th & 29th: Student Activities
    • Various weekend activities will be available for students to participate.

Register to Attend Orientation

Note for Distance Education Students (100% Online Programs):

  • Students enrolled in an online program only are required to complete a pre-orientation module on BrightSpace prior to Orientation. An email with more details will be sent to students in these programs by the Assistant Director of Distance Education.

Note for International Students:

  • Orientation Process For International Students Without F-1 Status: International students who are enrolled in 100% online programs are required to complete the Distance Education Pre-Orientation Module.
  • Orientation Process For International Students With F-1 Status: International students who are enrolled with F-1 status are required to attend the full Orientation on August 27, 2021 in order to complete their registration in SEVIS. Your SEVIS record will not be marked active if you do not attend the mandatory orientation sessions. If you are unable to attend orientation, students must email before August 26th to request permission to make other arrangements.
