• Managing and operating small farms (fruits and vegetables, beef, swine, sheep, orchards, draft horses, maple syrup, and Christmas trees)
• Economic development in state and municipal government
• Real estate management and development
• Serving as a cost accountant in a shipyard
• Working as a small-town patrolman
• Restaurant work as a dishwasher and short-order cook
• Logging and woodcutting
• Teaching as a college professor and high school instructor (driver’s education, business, and social studies)
• Operating as a licensed securities broker/dealer (stocks, options, futures, forex, and insurance)
• Starting the first cannabis cultivation, retail, and edible production in Maine
