Brief Biography

Dr. Erin Soucy graduate of UMFK, earning a bachelor of science in nursing in 1995. She went on to earn a master’s of science in nursing from Saint Joseph’s College of Maine in 2004 and then earned a Ph.D. in education from Northcentral University in 2011.

Dr. Soucy began working at UMFK in 1998 as the Nursing Resource Center Manager. She became a faculty member in 2004, teaching adult health, obstetrics, and pediatrics. She became Director of the nursing program in 2006 and then the Dean of Undergraduate Nursing in 2018.

Dr. Soucy was recognized in 2007 as the UMFK Outstanding Young Alumna, was awarded UMFK’s Outstanding Faculty of the Year in 2014, and was recognized in 2015 as UMFK Outstanding Nursing Alumna.

Dr. Soucy serves as a member of the Board and Quality Improvement Committee for Northern Maine Medical Center. She is a corporator for Northern Light Health. She also serves on the Advisory Board for Eastern Maine Community College and Northern Maine Community College. She serves on the statewide nursing education committee, MeNEC.

In her spare time, Dr. Soucy enjoys reading, spending time with friends and family, boating, gardening, and any activity that brings her outdoors.
