I chose to come to UMFK because of the quality education they provide and the small, close-knit community. No matter what your interests are, you will find a spot for yourself at UMFK. My professors have done a great job of preparing me for my future career. They are amazing at making sure you have an understanding of the material and being there to help you when needed. Something I’ve learned that helped me tons in my studies would be that memorizing material is not an effective way to learn, you need to understand it and make associations to learn the material effectively. After UMFK, I plan to continue my education and get my Nurse Practitioner with a concentration in Pediatric Oncology. Then hopefully, later in my career become a traveling NP.
