The University of Maine at Fort Kent’s Acadian Archives acadiennes and the Maine Acadian Heritage Council will be hosting Dr. Michael Hillard, Professor of Economics and Director of the Food Studies Program at the University of Southern Maine to campus to present his documentary about the 1971 Madawaska Rebellion on March 22, 2018.

The University of Maine at Fort Kent Environmental Studies Speaker Series will host a presentation by Eric Giberson on Friday, February 16 from 11 a.m. to Noon in UMFK’s Nadeau Hall conference room.
The University of Maine at Fort Kent will host an advanced screening of the National Geographic series, Chain of Command, on Thursday February 8, 2018 at 6:00pm in Nadeau Hall. UMFK’s Student Veterans of America is providing this opportunity in partnership with National Geographic, Team Rubicon, and Disabled Veterans of America have made this advance screening possible.
Lise Pelletier, director of the Acadian Archives/Archives acadiennes at the University of Maine at Fort Kent, will be teaching a special five-week, ten hour course titled History of Acadie and the St. John Valley starting on March 7th and meeting every Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm until April 4, 2018. For the first time, the course also will be available online.
