The University of Maine at Fort Kent’s (UMFK) Criminal Justice Program willhost a 9/11 Memorial Hike on Friday, Sept. 11, 2026, at Lonesome Pine Trails.

The event marks the 25th anniversary of Patriot Dayand offers community members an opportunity to gather and honor those who losttheir lives on Sept. 11, 2001.

Check-in begins at 8:15 a.m., and the hike willofficially start at 8:46 a.m., marking the exact time the first plane struckthe North Tower of the World Trade Center.

The memorial hike is free and open to the public.Participants are advised to wear appropriate footwear for trail conditions.Restroom facilities will be available inside the main lodge.
