The University of Maine at Fort Kent’s (UMFK) Criminal Justice Program will host a 9/11 Memorial Hike on Friday, Sept. 11, 2026, at Lonesome Pine Trails.
The event marks the 25th anniversary of Patriot Day and offers community members an opportunity to gather and honor those who lost their lives on Sept. 11, 2001.
Check-in begins at 8:15 a.m., and the hike will officially start at 8:46 a.m., marking the exact time the first plane struck the North Tower of the World Trade Center.
The memorial hike is free and open to the public. Participants are advised to wear appropriate footwear for trail conditions. Restroom facilities will be available inside the main lodge.
