Brief Biography

I graduated from the University of Maine at Fort Kent in the spring of 2017 with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Studies degree. I chose UMFK because of its affordability, hands-on learning, and location. The knowledgeable professors and field experiences set the Environmental Studies program at UMFK apart from programs at other universities. While attending UMFK, I was able to build connections that lead to me being hired as a contractor for the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife’s Fisheries Division. I was able to work a professional job in my field of study while being a full-time student at UMFK. The skills I learned in classes were essential to being a productive and proficient employee. Shortly after graduating, I accepted a permanent position as a Fish Culturist for the department. My current job duties include fish husbandry, spawning, and stocking throughout the state. Getting a degree in Environmental Studies from UMFK has allowed me to obtain a job in my chosen field here in Maine. I truly enjoy going to work every morning.
