“A Ukrainian friend of mine is helping to coordinate the Bukovian Music Festival in honor of the 500th anniversary of scholar Martin Luther nailing his 95 thesis to the doors of the Wittenberg Castle Church,” said Dr. Brickman. “They wanted international composers to feature aspects of different religions in their works. Mine are in Hebrew from selections of the Old Testament in honor of my Jewish, Catholic, and Lutheran family history.”
“One of the pieces I wrote, the 130th Psalm, will be sung in Latin and Hebrew at the same time,” said Dr. Brickman. “And the grand finale will be sung in Latin, Hebrew and German at the same time. This a truly unique event.”
