UMFK offering annual OSHA training

The University of Maine at Fort Kent division of nursing will offer an Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) update training program on September 16, in Nadeau Teleconference Center.

The session will be held from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon and will be structured for the health care profession.

Designed to fulfill annual OSHA staff retraining requirements for health care professionals, the workshop provides 0.6 continuing education credits.

Cathy Turbyne, ED.D., MS and president of Turbyne Associates, will teach the course, which will cover topics including employer/employee management of HBV, HIV, and TB issues in Maine, TB standards in effect for health care, updates on OSHA rules and regulations, and hazard assessments, among others.

Registration for the workshop is $45. Student registration is $10 with a current student ID.
