The University of Maine at Fort Kent division of nursing will offer an Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) update training program on October 24 in UMFK's Nadeau Hall Teleconference Center.
The session will be structured for the Business and Industry professions only and will be held from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.
The training will again be taught by Cathy Turbyne, RDH, MS, who intends to cover a series of topics including: Maine's preventative safety rules and regulations, Injury/Illness statistics for the state of Maine, Hazardous chemical communication standard, respiratory standard, medical services first aid, updates to posted rules and much more.
Participants will receive 4 contact hours for attending this course which has been structured to complete annual OSHA staff retraining requirements for business and industry professionals
"This program is planned to work alternating years between health care and business and industry professionals. With such an enjoyable speaker this year should be as successful as past years," remarked Lena Michaud, session coordinator.
Registration for the workshop before October 10 is $40. The cost of attendance for registrants after October 10 is $45. Student registration fee is $10.
