The University of Maine at Fort Kent’s Academic Outreach Office and the Environmental Studies program at the University of Maine at Fort Kent will welcome Monsignor Charles Murphy on Wednesday, October 8 for a presentation on “Theology & Environmentalism.”
The program will run from 12 noon to 1 p.m. and will be held in the Nadeau Hall teleconference room. The general public is encouraged to attend. Refreshments will be provided and the event is free.
Msgr. Murphy earned a Master in Education from Harvard University in 1958, and a Doctorate in Sacred Theology from Gregorian University in 1982. He has served as Rector of the North American College, in Rome from 1978-1984 and is the founding Director, Office for the Diaconate, Diocese of Portland. He has authored several books, including “At Home on Earth. Foundations for a Catholic Ethic of the Environment,” and has been a featured speaker at various campus and community programs.
