Seeking sopranos, altos, tenors, baritones and basses who enjoy singing choral music together

September 22, 2008

“Forest Song,” a community chorus, jointly sponsored by University of Maine at Fort Kent and Christ Church Congregational in Fort Kent, is looking for soprano, alto, tenor, baritone, and bass voices to join them for their winter/Christmas time concert of carols, chorales, seasonal pieces and old and new favorites.

Community members from both sides of the border are welcome to be part of the chorus.

“Forest Song” is dedicated to creating choral music for the public’s enjoyment in the Valley.  For its members, it offers the enjoyment of participating in music creation, in a variety of genres, and the potential for growth in the musical arts.

“Forest Song” has been in existence since 2004. It supports itself through membership donations and community sponsors.

The chorus rehearses Saturday mornings from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at Christ Church Congregational, which is the little white church located at 35 Pleasant Street, next to the University’s main driveway.

The first rehearsal and fall organizational meeting is Saturday, September 27 at 10 a.m.
