Love to sing...join the Forest Song community chorus
September 20, 2010
Forest Song, the Fort Kent community choral society jointly sponsored by Christ Church Congregational and the University of Maine at Fort Kent, is looking for soprano, alto, tenor, baritone, and bass voices.
Rehearsals are scheduled for Thursday evenings from 7 to 8 p.m. at Christ Church Congregational, the little white church located next to UMFK’s main entrance at 35 Pleasant Street. All interested voices are welcomed and you do not have to read music. All singers over age 16 are invited to join.
Forest Song Choral Society will begin practice for its winter community concert on Thursday, September 23 at 7 p.m. A social time has been planned for 6:45 p.m. The theme this winter is “A Thousand Years of Celebration.” We will perform songs and carols from the 9th century to the 1960s.
Forest Song has been in existence since 2004. It supports itself through membership donations and community sponsors. It is dedicated to creating and presenting vocal music to the communities of the St. John Valley and to extending the appreciation of music to all.
