Bank of America, which acquired MBNA, including its facilities in Fort Kent, last year, is donating the 14 acres of woodlands to UMFK to strengthen the University?s forestry program. The wooded area will be used for research and instructional purposes by the university.
This property is very important to the University. The forest land is used by our Forestry and Environmental Studies students and is a living laboratory serving programs right at the core of our mission, said Dr. Cost.
