The University of Maine at Fort Kent Foundation invites the public to enjoy a fall afternoon of high energy, traditional bluegrass musical entertainment with Blistered Fingers, on Sunday, October 23 at 2 p.m. in UMFK’s Fox Auditorium.

Blistered Fingers is a traditional bluegrass band from the central Maine area, which travels extensively throughout the Northeast and eastern Canada, cranking out incredibly enthusiastic music.

Blistered Fingers' obvious love of bluegrass, its fans, and field picking, makes it a special group with a delightful mix of original material, soulful ballads, and hard driving traditional bluegrass music.

Blistered Fingers has been awarded Maine's #1 Bluegrass Band of the Year by the Maine Country Music Association in 1998, 1999, and 2000. The band also has placed in the “All Time Greats” category.

In 2004, 2005, and 2006 Blistered Fingers was voted “Bluegrass Band of the Year” by the Maine Academy of Country Music.  The band delivers high-energy musical entertainment and renders a truly superb stage show, which will long be remembered by everyone who sees it.

Tickets to the performance are priced at $10 per person, and may be purchased through the UMFK Development Office at 834-7800, or at the door on the day of the performance.
