The University of Maine at Fort Kent will welcome Margaret Degon, of the Maine Parent Federation, to speak on the special education laws and regulations and the Individualized Education Program (IEP) process on Wednesday, November 14, 2007 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Nadeau Hall Conference Room.
The IEP creates an opportunity for teachers, parents, school administrators, related services personnel, and students to work together to improve educational results for children with disabilities. Educators and social services practitioners are invited, and family members are always welcome.
The lecture is free and sponsored by Maine Parent Federation's Parent to Parent Program, Northern Maine General Case Management Services, and the University of Maine at Fort Kent Academic Outreach.
