UMFK education students present annual book fair

October 15, 2004

The University of Maine at Fort Kent will be holding its fall book fair on November 2, 3 and 4 in Cyr Hall's Bengal's Lair.

The book fair is being held from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. on all three days.

The book fair is sponsored by the students in UMFK's education degree program and is held bi-annually in the spring and fall.

The fair is open to the public and will feature books for everyone, all ages and all interests.

Terry Murphy, professor of education, is working with the education students at coordinating the book fair. She encourages people to come to the Bengal's Lair to do some early Christmas shopping and give the gift of literacy.

"This is an excellent opportunity to purchase a gift that keeps on giving. In addition, having our students take part in coordinating an event of this nature is most appropriate, as they are encouraging all who participate to expand their horizons through reading," said Murphy.
