The University of Maine at Fort Kent’s Blake Library continues to offer both online and print resources to the St. John Valley community with nothing more than an old fashioned library card.

The download library is one of many ways to get great titles in a variety of formats. With your Blake Library card, you can checkout and download audio books that play in a number of formats to fit your mp3 or iPod player. You also can checkout and download e-books to your computer to use with your Kindle, Nook, or a number of other e-reader devices. If you don’t have an e-reader device, you still can read the e-books on your computer, iPad, Blackberry, or similar devices.
But don’t forget the hard copy format (the real book). With a simple click of a button, you can request books from other libraries online and have them here within a week. It’s as easy as using©, but it’s free (though you do have to return the item).
Also, if you are more interested in journal, magazine, or newspaper articles (including the Bangor Daily News), the Marvel Databases Online are available to all Maine residents. You can use your name and barcode to log in, or simply sign up with Marvel for your free account.
Finally, new in the Marvel Databases is You can access this wonderful resource from your internet-connected library. Though many of the Marvel databases are available to patrons from home, is only available at the library.
The Blake Library staff hopes the community of the St. John Valley will take advantage of our resources and services. They are at your fingertips. All the resources mentioned above can be accessed through the Blake Library web site at
