Singer/Songwriter David Harris to perform at UMFK coffee house

October 2, 2008

Singer/songwriter David Harris will perform at the University of Maine at Fort Kent coffee house on Thursday, October 16 at 7 p.m. in the Bengal’s Lair.   Admission is free and open to the public.

Harris currently is on tour in support of his new recordings, "Songs For Miss Overman" and "Again." He has been called a masterful storyteller and an impeccably fluid guitarist. He writes wonderful songs. Artful, thoughtful, sometimes amusing, and always heartfelt, David creates vivid portraits of people's lives, adventures and dreams in song.

Whether he is writing about romance or politics, the society or the environment, spirituality or modern wants, Harris captures images and ideas which evoke in us a sense of "listening" to a great book. Musically, he has forged a compelling style of guitar playing in which he utilizes altered and open tunings to create rich, mystic harmonies.

In addition to his original style of singing and songwriting, David also writes and performs original songs in a variety of contemporary styles including country, jazz, pop, rock, acoustic, and folk.
