SNO to host "Run for Nurses" at UMFK

The University of Maine at Fort Kent Student Nurses Organization (SNO) will host a benefit run and walk race on Saturday, October 31.  Race time is set for 10 a.m. and is open to all age groups.

The race will consist of four different categories: a 5k and 10k run and a 5k and 10k walk. The fee for each category is $10 and $5 for children under 12 and seniors over 65.

Race-day registration and number pick-up will begin at 9 a.m. at the UMFK Sports Center. The first 30 people to register will receive a race t-shirt.  T-shirts also will be on sale the day of the race for $5.

Racers will utilize the Heritage Trail. The course does include a few road crossings. If there is snow, the course will be mapped out.

Racers will compete in four different age groups: under age 12; ages 12 through 19; ages 20 through 29; ages 30 through 39 and ages 40 through 49; ages 50 through 59; ages 60 through 69 and ages 70 and up.
