The University of Maine at Fort Kent will offer a basic defensive tactics course on Saturday, October 20 and Sunday, October 21from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Sports Center, room 118.
This one credit course will consist of the discussion and application of defensive tactics techniques and will cover topics such as, situational awareness, improvised weapons, single man and team takedown, and restraint/cuffing techniques. Course also includes an introduction to basic self-defense and introduction to legal and ethical responsibilities when applying defensive tactics.
The course will be taught by UMFK adjunct faculty member, John Dumond.
