UMFK education students present annual fall book fair

October 13, 2006

The University of Maine at Fort Kent will be holding its annual fall Scholastic book fair on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday November 7, 8 and 9 in the Bengal's Lair in Cyr Hall. The fair is open to the public and will feature books for everyone, all ages and all interests.

The event will held from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday and from 9 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Thursday.

The book fair is sponsored by the Student Teacher Education Professional Society (STEPS).

Dr. Terry Murphy, professor of education, is working with STEPS at coordinating the event. She encourages people to come to the Bengal's Lair to do some early Christmas shopping and give the gift of literacy. There also will be doors prizes.

"This is a wonderful opportunity to show support for literacy and for reading. All proceeds will be donated to Blake Library, so a purchase supports not only literacy and reading, but also the library".
