The University of Maine at Fort Kent Bengal men's soccer team, champions of the Sunrise Conference, will be back in action this Friday, November 10 at 2 p.m. to face Ohio Dominican Panthers in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics regional semi-finals in Rio Grande, Ohio.

Should the Bengal men win the Region IX tournament, they would go to the national tournament held in Daytona Beach, Florida.

The men had to wait for preliminary playoff games to be played in the American Mideast Conference (AMC) Region IX this past week to learn who would be their semi-final opponent. Ohio Dominican bested Tiffin (Ohio) University to advance.

The Bengal men finished the year at 13-2 and earned enough points to avoid the quarterfinal round of the tournament.

The UMFK men's and women's soccer teams won the Sunrise Conference Championships two weekends ago in the tournament held at Vermont Technical College in Randolph, Vermont. Both teams also claimed NAIA Region X championships and trips to the NAIA Region IX playoffs.

The Bengal men beat Paul Smith's College in the semi-finals and followed that up with a 6-1 win over UMM in the championship game.
