Jenna Beaulieu, a senior English major from Fort Kent, has been named the University of Maine at Fort Kent Student Employee of the Year. Jenna was nominated by her work supervisor, Lisa Ornstein, director of the University's Acadian Archives.
Jenna's selection as student employee of the year was conducted under the guidelines of the Northeast Association of Student Employment Administrators (NEASEA). Each year NEASEA awards a deserving student the student employee of the year award. Student must be nominated by the campus where they attend school, and then a committee reviews the nominations and selects a student employee from that campus.
To be nominated for the award, supervisors send in a nomination form and the student is judged on his/her initiative, reliability, disposition, quality of work, and contribution to the department where they work.
Jenna is a student employee who works in more than one job on campus and is an incredible student worker. Lisa Ornstein noted in her nomination of Jenna, "She is one of the most poised, mature, considerate, and charming young persons I've ever met. She is unfailingly polite, positive and proactive. I've never had anyone so utterly reliable, competent, professional and pleasant to work with."
Jenna's name and nomination now will go to the state level, and then possibly to the regional level, for further consideration. Other students nominated for the award were: Mitchell Daigle, Jonathan Harbison, Heather Hartman, Heather Hickey, Loni Levesque, Fred Lizotte, Doug Morin, Chris Pennucci and Scott Wright.
Jenna was awarded a plaque and $50 gift certificate to the UMFK bookstore.
Michelle Beaulieu, Student Employment/Human Resources Office, coordinated the student employee of the year selection process.
