French Immersion Camp for kids offered on UMFK campus this summer

The University of Maine at Fort Kent Office of Academic Outreach is pleased to sponsor a one-week French language immersion camp for Valley school children, age five to ten.

The camp will be held from Monday, June 26 through Friday, June 30.

The cost for the French language immersion camp is $15 per person.

The deadline for registration is Tuesday, June 20.

The beginner level classes will be offered for children ages five to seven. The students will meet in the morning from 9 to 11 a.m.

A beginning and intermediate level session will be offered for youths ages eight through ten will meet in the afternoon from 1 to 3 p.m.

?The students will learn the basics in conversational French for everyday use appropriate to their age. Daily themes, use of games, songs, and hands-on creation of materials will be incorporated into camp activities and a great way for your child to begin or build on their French language skills,? said Don Eno, UMFK coordinator for distance education and academic outreach.

Classes will be led by experienced teachers, with instruction primarily given in French.
