The University of Maine at Fort Kent honored members of its faculty and staff for their service to the University at a recent ceremony on campus. Special awards were given to employees who have been at UMFK for five, ten, fifteen, twenty, twenty-five, and thirty years of service.
President Wilson G. Hess presented the honors following touching and humorous tributes to honorees by fellow faculty and staff.
Thirty years of service awards were presented to Dr. Deborah Pringnitz, professor of biology, and Brad Ritz, associate professor of business and economics.
Dr. Raymond Albert, professor of computer science, was recognized for twenty-five years of service.
Twenty years of service honoree was Robert Daigle, building and grounds maintenance worker.
Dr. Scott Brickman, professor of music and education, and Dr. Jenny Radsma, professor of nursing, were recognized for fifteen years of service.
Ten years of service awards were presented to Aaron Bernstein, assistant director of media services; Raymond Phinney, assistant dean of student life and development; Joyce Plourde, records technician II for the Business office; and Lisa Roy, administrative assistant I for Student Affairs office.
Recognition for five years of service were Joshua Belanger, IT specialist; JR Bjerklie, associate director of institutional research; Dr. Soraya Cardenas, associate professor of sociology and environmental studies; Roland Caron, associate professor of education; Shawn Graham, counselor and accessibility coordinator of Student Support Services; Lise Pelletier, director of the Acadian Archives/Archives acadiennes; Philip Plourde, building and grounds maintenance worker; Eric Russell, assistant director of residential life; and Danielle Thibeault, administrative assistant I for Human Resources.
