UMFK to offer youth basketball & soccer camps

The University of Maine at Fort Kent will be offering two athletic camps for area youth this summer. Registration is open to children entering kindergarten through eighth grades.

Bengal Basketball Camp is scheduled to begin on June 21 through June 25 and Bengal Soccer Camp will begin on July 5th through July 9.

Camp sessions will be split into age groups with the kindergarten through grade five in the morning session from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Grades six through eight will attend their session from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.

In depth and individualized instruction in an extremely competitive, fun environment will be offered during the two weeks.

Both camps will feature and experienced staff of college and high school coaches and players who will work closely with campers, stressing fundamentals and improvement of skills. Guest lectures, demonstrations, contests, and games will round out the week long camp

Participants will also receive a camp T-Shirt, awards and evaluations.

The cost of each camp is $50 and discounted rates are available for children attending both camps, families enrolling more than one camper, and children in financial need.

The camps continue to be popular with local residents as well as visitors who spend their summers in the Valley.
