The University of Maine at Fort Kent’s Sports Center will be the site of the 2009 Maine Moose permit Lottery on Thursday, June 18.  It marks the first time that the permit drawing has been held in the St. John Valley.

The drawing of nearly 3,000 permits for the September and October hunts will begin at 6 p.m.  Doors to the Sports Center will open to the public at 2 p.m.  Admission to the event is free.

A planning committee of local officials, citizens and University personnel has been formed to organize the drawing.

The Greater Fort Kent Area Chamber of Commerce will assist in promoting the event. The drawing will provide a great opportunity for local sporting businesses and organizations to promote their goods and services.

A limited number of display areas/tables are available for rent, and may be reserved on a first-come, first-served basis.

Preference will be given to outdoor-related businesses and organizations.

All space display areas are: 9’3” x 6’3.”  Rental fees are $25 per space, and include one 8-foot table.  Electrical access is limited to the outer perimeter of the Sports Center.

Doors to the UMFK Sports Center will open at 10 a.m. on the day of the drawing for vendor set-up.

For further information on vendor space availability, please contact the UMFK Facilities Management Office at (207) 834-7670. ###
