Tickets are selling fast for the Wednesday, March 30 performance by world-renowned violin virtuoso, Midori, at the University of Maine at Fort Kent.

Midori will perform at 7 p.m. in Fox Auditorium on the UMFK campus.
Reserved seating for the Midori performance is limited and is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Tickets are priced at $20 per person for the performance only. Tickets to the performance, and a post-performance champagne reception with Midori, are priced at $35 per person.
Tickets may be purchased by calling 207-834-7800.
The Midori performance is presented by UMFK in collaboration with Partners in Performance (PIP).  Proceeds from the evening with Midori benefit UMFK’s International Performers Series, which provides a wide range of entertainment free to UMFK students, as well as to the greater Fort Kent community at nominal prices.
Midori is recognized not only for the evolution and scope of her 28-year career as one of the most dazzlingly gifted performers before the public, but increasingly for the prescient and innovative community engagement initiatives to which she devotes a substantial amount of her energies and resources worldwide on an ongoing basis.
PIP was founded with the monetary award that Midori received as part of the coveted Avery Fisher Prize in 2001. Initiated in the wake of Arts Council funding cutbacks across the United States, PIP aims to stimulate local interest in recitals and chamber music, specifically in smaller outlying communities without the financial resources of major urban centers.
