DuoSolo to perform on the UMFK campus

March 12, 2012

DuoSolo will appear in Fox Auditorium on the University of Maine at Fort Kent campus on Tuesday, March 20, at 7 p.m. The event is sponsored by the UMFK Student Activities. Tickets are priced at $10 for adults and $7 for students.

Flutist Mary Fukushima and pianist Michael Kirkendoll, of DuoSolo, are dedicated to performing the most innovative music of our time. DuoSolo believes the future of classical music lies in their ability to reach out to new audiences, particularly young people, through programming music that is at the same time fun, challenging, and cutting edge.

DuoSolo's goals include performing works by the most influential composers of the 20th Century (Berio, Boulez, Messiaen, et. al.), as well as works by both established and emerging composers of the 21st Century.

Their greatest joy, however, comes from the collaborative experience of commissioning and premiering new works.

Tickets may be purchased at the door. For more information on the performance, please contact the Student Activities office at (207) 834-7850.
