The University of Maine at Fort Kent head women's volleyball coach Kate Fecinta will host a volleyball clinic and tournament on Saturday, March 24 and Sunday March 25, to benefit UMFK's women's volleyball.
On Sunday, check-in and warm-up starts at 8:30 a.m. The tournament begins at 9:30 a.m.
The event is open to anyone over twelve years of age. Participants need to request a registration form from Fecinta at (207) 834-7593 or go to: www.umfk.maine.edu/athletics/intrcolgt/wvball to download a registration form.
The cost of the clinic and tournament is $25. Participation in the clinic only is $20 per person and $10 for the tournament only. The event is categorized in three levels: beginner, intermediate and advanced.
The first 50 participants receive a free souvenir T-shirt. Fun contests will go on throughout the two days and chances of winning prizes. Plenty of giveaways and tournaments awards will be given out on Sunday.
Registration will be at 8 a.m. in the UMFK Sports Center on Saturday, March 24. The morning will begin with a warm-up and plyometrics followed by fundamental drills of passing, digging, setting, serving etc. The scrimmage will begin at 2:30 p.m.
The proceeds will benefit UMFK women's volleyball.
