The University of Maine at Fort Kent Acadian Archives/Archives acadiennes will host a four-day seminar on how to begin a family genealogy from Monday, June 23 through Thursday, June 26.  The seminar will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. each day.  The workshop will be conducted by Helen Melvin of Fort Kent, a certified teacher who has studied genealogy for 15 years and who specializes in Franco-American genealogy.  Participants will be assisted in the actual research process, receiving tips on how to begin a family genealogy ad how to log their progress. They also will be provided with sources of related documents, publications and web sites.  Workshop handouts will provide research hints and will list local resources.  The cost of the four-day seminar is $20, for supplies.
