The University of Maine at Fort Kent Athletic Department and Student Activities will host a seven-a-side soccer tournament on Saturday, July 18, starting at 10 a.m. at the UMFK Alumni Memorial Field.
The competition is part of a series of summer activities for students, but Assistant Director of Student Activities and Residence Life Theresa Biggs said the university is inviting staff, faculty, and community members to join in the fun.
“It's for everyone,” said Biggs.
The tournament will be for individuals 16 years and older, and it is a co-ed event. Each team needs a minimum of seven players on the field at one time, six field players and one goalkeeper.
The cost is $2 per person to participate. Organizers will provide fruit and water, which is included in the cost for all players.
