There still are openings for the University of Maine at Fort Kent week-long French camp for kids from Monday, June 25 through Friday, June 29.
The program is designed to teach children from ages five to eight to learn and use the French language. Classes will be held at the UMFK Sports Center. The session will be from 9 to 11:30 a.m.
The camp is a fun way for children to learn a new language or practice skills they may have learned at home or in school. Connie Cloutier, a French teacher at the Community High School in Fort Kent, will be the instructor.
Activities include arts and crafts, story telling, games, field trips and singing. Students will bring home new vocabulary and various fun projects. Lunch is not provided.
The camp fee is $25 for each child. Space is limited.
