University of Maine at Fort Kent Assistant Professor of Business, Leo Trudel, has completed coursework toward a doctorate in business administration, with a concentration in finance, at North Central University (NCU) in Prescott, Arizona.

Trudel has finished all but his dissertation, which he intends to complete in technical analysis pertaining to the U.S. equity markets.  He began working on his Ph.D. in 2006.

Previously, he completed a master’s degree in Finance at NCU in April 2008.  He also received a Masters of Business Administration in Management from Plymouth State (New Hampshire) University.

Currently, Trudel is a licensed general securities representative; a registered investment advisor; a registered market maker; as well as a life and health insurance agent.

Additionally, Trudel currently is developing a course for the Market Technicians Association Education Foundation in conjunction with UMFK, to assist candidates in their endeavors to becoming Certified Market Technicians (CMT).

The CMT is a three-test process leading to a certification recognized by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, thereby qualifying the individuals as market analysts without having to take the exam.

Trudel began teaching at UMFK in September 2005.  ###
