Youth Voices 5K/10K road race to be held at UMFK

The University of Maine at Fort Kent athletic department will partner up with Power of Prevention to host a Youth Voices 5K/10K Road Race on Sunday, August 15 at the UMFK Sports Center, with a 9 a.m. start time. The race is open to all age groups.  

Race-day registration and number pick-up will begin at 8 a.m. The fee for the race is $15 with proceeds to benefit Youth Voices.  
Racers will compete in four different age groups: under age 18; age 18 through 29; age 30 through 44 and age 45 and up.

Power of Prevention is a local coalition that works with community partners to make Northern Aroostook a healthier place to live and work. Much of our work is through education and awareness as well as policy and environmental change in five areas: physical activity, nutrition, tobacco, substance abuse, and chronic disease.
We are one of 28 Healthy Maine Partnerships funded through the Fund for a Healthy Maine, a grant from the Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention, a division of the Department of the Maine Health and Human Services. We also receive funding and support from the Maine Office of Substance Abuse. 
Power of Prevention is hosted in Caribou by Cary Medical Center and the Caribou Wellness Center and our Fort Kent offices are hosted by Northern Maine Medical Center.
