More than 25 girls attended the University of Maine at Fort Kent summer Bengal basketball camp this past week. The camp was hosted by the athletic department. The camp staff featured top high school and college coaches and players from the St. John Valley, and beyond. Eric Werntgen, UMFK men’s basketball coach, was the camp director. The camp included fundamental instruction; daily games & contests; lectures & demonstrations. "UMFK is extremely proud to host the camp this summer for area children in grades K-8. It is amazing to see campers work together and improve throughout the duration of the camp. It is nice to see so many young people excited about basketball. The camp was a great success and we look forward to running it again next summer,” said Werntgen.
