The University of Maine at Fort Kent Golf Scramble, to be held at the Fort Kent Golf Club on Saturday, August 4, will feature two major hole-in-one prizes, as well as additional bonus prizes included in the four-person scramble format.
The organizing committee is proud to feature a $25,000 prize for a hole-in-one for qualified participants sponsored in part by Thibodeau’s Insurance on the third hole. Participants also have a chance to drive away in a brand new Buick Lucerne if they can ace the par-three number five in Saturday’s competition. Valley Auto of Fort Kent donated the new car.
National, state and local sponsors have been confirmed to help run the event at one of Saint John Valley’s most beautifully maintained golf courses.
The scramble also will feature a chipping and putting contest prior to the 18-hole event at 10:30 a.m. A longest drive and closest to the pin competition will be held during the afternoon scramble, which begins with a shotgun start at 12:45 p.m.
Lunch will be served prior to the event.
Prizes, including UMFK memorabilia, will be awarded to the top three gross and net winners. Additional hole-in-one promotions will feature bonus prizes on the course’s twelfth and fourteenth.
A UMFK Golf Scramble t-shirt, lunch and two golf carts are included with entry fee for a four- person team. Individual entries also are available.
