The University of Maine at Fort Kent Student Activities & Residential Life Office will host a pancake breakfast on Monday, January 16 from 9 to 11 a.m. in Nowland Hall to commemorate the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. national holiday.
The entire campus and the greater Fort Kent community are invited to attend.
UMFK President, Wilson G. Hess, will open the event with an introduction about Dr. King, and the day. Representatives from local organizations, such as PAWS, and the Soil and Water Conservation Department, among others, will speak about volunteer opportunities within their organizations.
Later that afternoon, from 2 to 4 p.m., students will visit area assisted living facilities to visit with residents.
UMFK students may present their meal plan identification card to pay for the brunch. Those without a meal plan will be charged $6.70 at the door.
