The University of Maine at Fort Kent will welcome Rita Theriault, a certified Brain Gym consultant, to speak on "Improving Brain Performa" on February 13, 2007 at 6:30 p.m. in Nadeau Hall Teleconference Room.
UMFK's academic outreach and Maine Parent Federation's Parent-to-Parent of Maine Program, in collaboration with Northern Maine General case management division, are pleased to host the free workshop for families and those who support them.
Theriault is a speech language pathologist and massage therapist.
Research has shown how movement improves brain performance. Theriault will teach how Brain Gym, a system that uses simple movements, to stimulate brain function and bring out quick and sometimes dramatic improvement in areas of the brain, such as memory, organizations, problem solving, math, spelling, reading and much more. The program is beneficial to both children and adults.
The workshop is free and open to the public.
