The University of Maine at Fort Kent is pleased to announce that Jill Bouchard Cairns has been appointed by the New England Association for College Admission Counseling (NEACAC) as chair of the NEACAC College Fairs Committee.
The College Fairs Committee oversees the development, scheduling and budgeting of the fall and spring NEACAC College Fairs throughout the New England six-state region.
Bouchard Cairns, a native of Fort Kent, serves as assistant director of admissions at UMFK since 2003.
"UMFK is very proud that Ms. Cairns has been appointed to this position." said Douglas Barley, director of admissions at UMFK. "As the chair, her decisions will affect college bound students from across all of New England, and I believe that the students will definitely benefit from her service."
She was involved as a member of the annual meeting committee and human relations committee for the NEACAC.
Bouchard Cairns received her bachelor of arts degree in social science with a minor in education from the University of Southern Maine in 1999.
Prior to UMFK, Bouchard Cairns worked as an admissions counselor at USM for a year. In 2001, she worked as an admissions advisor at the University of Washington.
Her term expires in 2008.
Bouchard Cairns resides in Fort Kent with her husband Rick.
