UMFK campus to participate in National Wear Red Day

On Friday, February 5, the University of Maine at Fort Kent campus community will join the American Heart Association’s (AHA) fight against heart disease by encouraging everyone to participate by wearing red to work to help raise women’s awareness of cardiovascular disease and empower women to reduce their risk.  

“We are proud to be joining the American Heart Association in the fight against the number one killer of women, as well as of men,” said Denise Potvin, UMFK nursing resource manager.  
An informational booth will be set-up in Cyr Hall. Student Nurses Organization (SNO) will be handing out red ribbons for people to wear, just to make ensure that everyone has something red on. There also will be a photo taken at 9 a.m. in the Bengal’s Lair of everyone who is wearing red on Friday, February 5.
