Eric Werntgen will be leaving his position as men's head basketball head coach, assistant athletic director, and sports information director after 16 years of service at the University of Maine at Fort Kent.
University of Maine at Fort Kent Athletic Director Bill Ashby recently was named the 2013-2014 Garth Pleasant Honorary Athletic Director of the Year at the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) national convention held in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
The University of Maine at Fort Kent Alumni Association, in conjunction with the Fort Kent Senior Center Club will host a Toast and Jam Acadian Kitchen Party to be held on Friday, June 20 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Fort Kent Senior Center, located at 20 Pine Street.
Noted scholar Dr. Mark Richard will appear at the University of Maine at Fort Kent annual Presidential Lecture Series on Thursday, June 5 at 7 p.m. in Fox Auditorium to discuss his book Loyal but French: The Negotiation of Identity by French-Canadian Descendants in the United States. The presentation is free and open to the public.
Thirty-Two current University of Maine at Fort Kent nursing students were inducted into the Nursing Honor Society and 38 UMFK nursing students were honored at the Nurse Pinning Ceremony held on Friday, May 9, 2014 in the Fox Auditorium.
