The University of Maine at Fort Kent's fourth annual Scholars' Symposium will take place on Thursday and Friday, May 2 & 3 on the UMFK campus. The theme of this year's event is “Creativity, Technology, and the Workplace: Bridge to the Future.”
The University of Maine at Fort Kent will host a summer retreat for teachers using iPads in their grades K through 8 classrooms, Sunday, June 23 through Tuesday, June 25 on the UMFK campus.
The University of Maine at Fort Kent's Blake Library Gallery will feature "Look Again, What We See Matters" the work of students in Therese Provenzano's Art 200 Fundamental of Art class. The exhibition will be on display through Saturday, May 4.
The University of Maine at Fort Kent Foundation raised more than $16,600 -- a record amount -- at its eighth annual spring dinner/performance held on Saturday evening, April 13 on the UMFK campus. Proceeds from the fundraising event help support endowed scholarships, faculty and student research, and special projects not budgeted for in the University's operating budget.
Former state Representative, John L. Martin, will address the graduates at the University of Maine at Fort Kent's 131st Commencement on Saturday, May 18 in the University's Sports Center. Representative Martin also will receive an honorary doctorate degree during the ceremonies.
University of Maine at Fort Kent students enrolled in computer science and computer applications will have the opportunity to meet information technology professionals and employers at a networking video reception to be held in the Nadeau Hall Nursing Conference Room on Thursday, April 18 from 5 to 6:30 p.m.
