UMFK Bengals host soccer tourney

The University of Maine at Fort Kent Bengals will host a pre-season soccer tournament September 3 and 4.

Competing in the two-day event will be Thomas College, University of Maine at Machias, University of Maine at Presque Isle, and UMFK.

On the following weekend, September 10 and 11, UMFK will compete in a tourney at UMPI along with Maine Maritime Academy and Husson College.

The regular home openers for the men's team will take place during "Come to Campus Days" September 17, against College of St. Joseph of Vermont, and September 18, when Lyndon State College of Vermont, visits UMFK.

Coaching the men's team is Larry Murphy of Fort Kent, a former coach and player for the Bengals.

The UMFK Lady Bengals hit the road September 3 and 4, to play in a pre-season tourney at UMPI.

A home tourney for the women will be played at UMFK on September 10 and 11, with Thomas College, Maine Maritime Academy and UMPI.

First home matches for the UMFK women are September 17, with College of St. Joseph and September 18, against Lyndon State during "Come to Campus Days."

Returning to coach the Lady Bengals is Lucas Levesque.

The UMFK men and women visit rival UMPI on September 24.
