Crime Scene Investigation (CSI) Camp offered at UMFK

The University of Maine at Fort Kent will offer a Crime Scene Investigation (CSI) Camp this summer for students entering their sophomore, junior or senior years of high school. The camp will run from Sunday, June 26 through Thursday, June 30. 

If you are one who likes shows, such as CSI, NCIS, Criminal Minds, Law & Order or Numb3rs, then this camp is for you.
 
Camp activities include: investigating a mock crime scene, set up by UMFK criminal Justice and Public Safety faculty; introduction to forensic science; fingerprinting with Maine State Police specialists; evidence collection; mock trial; blood pattern/spatter analysis; casting footprints/tire treads; legal issues; forensic entomology (It`s a bug`s life!); medical anthropology; and animal autopsy.
 
 Join an exciting profession that is both innovative and challenging. Learn the impact law enforcement has on society. Become a leader in the law enforcement field. There are Criminal Justice and Public Safety opportunities for you: crime scene investigation; forensic science; criminology; criminal law; criminal profiling; criminalistics; crime scene technician; and pathology.
 
Other activities will include a barbeque, picnic, use of Sports Center, canoeing and kayaking, movie night, and a Fort Kent Police Department and U.S. Customs tour.
 
The first 20 applicants will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. The cost of the camp includes lodging and food. A non-refundable deposit of $50 is required. Lodging arrangements for parents may be made for night of June 26, if needed.
