The University of Maine at Fort Kent Foundation raised more than $16,000 -- a record amount -- at its seventh annual spring dinner/performance held Saturday evening, April 14 on the UMFK campus. Proceeds from the fundraising event help support endowed scholarships, research awards, and special projects not budgeted for in the University's operating budget.
The annual event included a social hour and a five-course gourmet dinner in Nowland Hall. The dinner was catered and donated by Aramark food services.
At the event, The Foundation presented its annual faculty research award to UMFK Assistant Professor of Nursing, Dr. Erin Soucy. Dr. Soucy is the Directorof the University's Division of Nursing.
Following dinner, musical entertainment for the gala evening was provided by Annie Royer, international cabaret jazz singer, in Fox Auditorium. The evening ended on a sweet note with a post-performance dessert and champagne reception held in the Nadeau Hall Teleconference Room.
The Foundation is grateful for the support of all individuals who contributed and/or attended the event. The Foundation also is very appreciative of all the dinner sponsors.
