Local Students Experience Fun with the French Language

April 14, 2006

UMFK students, Priscilla Croft, Christina Roland, and Kelsy Landry, are all enrolled in professor Katharine Harrington's French Teaching Methods course. These students have worked with Harrington to create "Fun with the French language", the after-school program for third and fourth graders at Fort Kent elementary school. The program began on April 6 and will run until May 4. The theme of the program focuses on the family and the home. These elementary students are offered an immersion experience, as the one hour course is taught entirely in French, incorporates games, songs and arts & crafts activities that reinforce French vocabulary and structures. Pictured also is Charles Collin a Fort Kent middle/high school French teacher who is also enrolled in Harrington's class.
