Chabora will perform an abbreviated version of the performance for high school and college students on the morning of April 13 and then a full-scale production for the general public in the evening of April 14.
Admission is free for UMFK faculty, staff and students. General admission for the evening show on Tuesday, April 14 is $5 per person.
THE BELLE OF AMHERST, written by William Luce, is the story of Emily Dickinson, an American poet and certified eccentric.
Chabora, on sabbatical from her current post in the Theater Department of North Dakota State University, is touring throughout the country. Her “Maine” stops also include Unity College, University of Maine at Orono, University of Maine at Presque Isle, and the Caribou Performing Arts Center.
She also will be teaching workshops for interested classes. Her production site, http://www.starharmony.org/belle/bellepam.htm, has numerous materials on Dickinson for enrichment or course development purposes.
